Anxiety and fear increase levels of stress hormones adrenaline
and this in turn blocks our labour and pain relieving hormones - oxytocin and endorphins.
Hypnobirthing teaches expectant parents how to manage their stress and reduce their fear and anxiety to relax appropriately and to mentally prepare the body for labour.
During Hypnobirthing classes partners learn how to be effective supporters during the labour which helps them to feel more involved in their baby's birth.
